ABOUT Me

Hello and Welcome!

I am the very proud Assistant Principal of P.S. 212Q School of Cyber Science and Literacy. I love coming to school each day and working with the entire P.S. 212 community of students, parents, teachers & staff, and Mrs. Ellis, our wonderful principal.

I am both privileged and honored to be part of a collaborative leadership team that devotes its energies to our school's vision: "We inspire children to learn, to experience and to achieve."  Our focus is on providing the best possible academic and social opportunities for all students in our care.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and my Master’s in Childhood Education from CUNY, Queens College.  I hold a second MSED Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Fordham University. I am a New York State certified School Building Leader. I also hold certifications as a New York State professionally certified teacher in Students with Disabilities Birth - 6 grade, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) grades PreK-12, Childhood Education grades 1-6, and a professional extension in Teacher of the Gifted and Talented grades K-12.

Before coming to P.S. 212, I was at Central Blvd. School in Bethpage, NY as the K-5 English as a Second Language teacher for six years and was the elementary administrator for the past two years.  I also taught grades 4 and 5 in Corona, Queens for three years.

I enjoy teaching and leading with technology and hope to collaborate with our students and teachers on wonderful new projects at our school.

My interests are spending time with my family, cooking (especially watching cooking shows on Food Network), reading, and walking my 3 dogs Delta, River, and Molly.

Wishing you all a wonderful school year!

Sincerely,

Laura Miniero
